About Kings Hall College
We are an English language college looking to do things differently. We offer year-round English programmes including General English, Business English and exam preparation. Our courses are enhanced by a varied, stimulating extra-curricular programme which extends students learning beyond the classroom and allows them to form lasting friendships with classmates from around the world.
About the Young Learners Summer Camp
Kings Hall College have created their own booklets to use in class which follow a project-based format. Using this methodology students work together during the week and present their project in a whole school event on Friday each week.
Training and support will be provided. We offer a well-rounded curriculum designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in English. We use the facilities at the University of Salford to deliver this programme.
Overall Responsibilities
In line with the Mission, Vision, and Goals of Kings Hall College, teachers will create lessons that motivate students to achieve their potential. The teacher will show a professional approach to the development of their students’ language skills.
Key Duties
Teaching
- Teach classes using Kings Hall College course programme and other appropriate materials as required.
- Ensure students receive the maximum benefit from their course.
- Give out and correct homework on a regular basis.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and report discipline problems to the Director of Studies.
- Encourage the students to speak English at every opportunity.
Student Progress
- Liaise with the Director of Studies regarding student progress and welfare and safeguarding.
- Write reports for departing students.
Administration
- Keep accurate Records of Work and attendance records.
- Contribute towards developing resources to supplement course materials.
- Be observed teaching as part of your Professional Development.
- Be in your classroom ready to teach before the lesson start time.
General Duties – All Staff
- Represent Kings Hall College to clients in a professional manner.
- Remain compliant with Safeguarding procedures.
- Ensure that health and safety policies are followed.
- Attend training as requested by the Management Team.
- Adhere to British Council criteria and work towards Areas of Strength.
- Keep your classroom well-presented and tidy.
- Assist with additional duties such as attending social activities as and when required to do so.
